Overall Job Purpose


The Social Media & Marketing Intern is responsible for coordinating and executing the company's social media & marketing strategy, working across key social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. This role offers the intern a total immersion into a start-up social impact for profit business. It will be a very hands on role with a possibility in the future of employment. 

The successful candidate will work closely with key founding members with over 15 years of experience in their respective areas. There will be an opportunity to learn about social media, digital communications, business, marketing and customer service. The role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for our brand among customers.

Key Duties

Social Media Community Management

  • Assist with streamlining and opportunity to develop company social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms), ensuring uniform content and tone of voice for landing pages, graphics, and other elements within the communities

  • Increase the number of followers we have on Instagram & Facebook by engaging with potential customers, influencers, and developing content engagement

  • monitoring and replying to comments from customers (initially under supervision)

  • posting updates, content, stories, etc to the various social media platforms (under supervision)

  • assisting and developing content boards for stories and feeds

  • develop surveys to help guide the corporate missions and product offerings Coordinating and Distributing Content

  • Brainstorming, developing, coordinating, scheduling content ideas for the various social media mediums

  • assist in developing content (graphic, photo and captions) for feeds & stories

  • liaise with senior members to ensure the timelines are being met

  • identify key influencers, bloggers, etc to develop partnerships with them and join their community

  • assist in developing material to blog or vblog on website

  • understand and Monitor Social Media Analytics

  • track key social media analytics on a monthly basis

  • track and report website statistics. Look at how well specific content performs, flow of traffic through to website, performance of shares, time viewers spent on page, and assist in generating new content or content improvement

  • Email Marketing & SEO

  • work with each team to create and send one email broadcast per month around content ideas

  • research free online directories to generate inbound links for SEO

  • fluent in English

Responsibilities may be updated from time to time to include other aspects within marketing and media.
