What was one of the first things you did when building Shakli?
One of the very first things we did (pre-incorporation) was aim to reserve the website and social media. Unfortunately, the website www.shakli.com was taken at the time, so we immediately reserved the name Shaklibrands online and with various social media outlets.
Why the word brands in Shaklibrands? Well, as we researched the modest fashion market we recognized so many gaps at different levels of quality and modest fashion offerings. We built several business models and scenarios thinking of ways to partner with other businesses, support each other, and even grow our brand beyond the initial market offering.
We love supporting other women owned, minority owned businesses and continuously look for ways to work together and build each other. Working together in community is not only a tagline, but a mission.
The use of the word Shaklibrands gives us a broad future ahead as we move this business forward.
